For the UK, pretty much everyone wanting All terrain tyres either has the Grabber ATās or the BFGās. I have had the Grabbers a few times in the past and they are good but from seeing the BFGās perform in mud on other cars, I really think they are better and certainly last longer.
The BFG KO2ās...
Yes, my previous car had the GrandTrek AT23ās not AT20ās as said earlier.
Appears that in the UK we may struggle to get the BFG KO3ās anytime soon in 265/60R20 so itās probably going to be the KO2ās which are still great tyres.
This all assumes that these new LCās ever arrive on UK shoresā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.
My last couple of LCās came with Dunlop GrandTrek AT20ās which may well be what the new cars will have. @DrD, the tyre is good but I had a few āmomentsā so I donāt think youāll get what you want out of the stock tyres on wet boggy pastures. The outgoing Invincibles came with 19ā rims which was...
My Sept 2022 LC had the same engine that the new one comes with and that had something like 36mpg as its official combined economy figure but actually did 27/28mpg, slightly more on long journeys.
Itās a shame that they havenāt come up with a new one for the new car as the Land Rover equivalent...
Iām getting the Invincible and as far as my research has told me, itās the lights, wheels and paint thatās different. The FE definitely comes with an exclusivity which will mean something on residuals and so could be cheaper in the long term. The FE cars in the US come with 18ā alloys giving...
Same lack of info hereā¦.. I asked Toyota UK as surely they know more about imports than the dealer but they came back with a āDonāt worry, we are on the case and asking your dealer for an update.ā
Hopeless.
Tyres - Iām also giving this too much thought given we donāt even know if the car will...
My App went into meltdown and lost the timeline when they told me they couldnāt fulfil the order. A week later it was back on but nothing on the App.
The FAQās in the WelcomeHub shows an estimated delivery date of 26th September but the dealer wasnāt aware of this. Itās all massively...
I have asked for email confirmation that my order is back on but radio silence since the verbal news on Tuesday last week.
Nothing against the salesman at dealer but I donāt think they have a clue whatās going on so they donāt know what to sayā¦ā¦ā¦.
OK, panic over. After 5 low days, I received a call from the Dealer this afternoon to say they had sourced one and that we were back on track for the September delivery.
Who knows when it will actually arrive but at least Iām in the first UK allocation.
Iām seriously considering a new generation Defender but after owning 4 previous Land Cruisers that feels like it would be a life of visiting the garage for repairs. Hopefully theyāll sort it out and give me a new order.
My order was placed in the first week of June and was given the bad news last week.
The frustrating thing is that the dealer canāt tell me anything so I donāt know if I wait it out or buy another car. Unfortunately I sold my current Land Cruiser in prep for the promised September delivery.
How are all the other UK orders looking???
Having paid a deposit in August last year and then a substantial further deposit early June, I am less than impressed to hear that they canāt deliver the one that Toyota UK sent me an email to confirm was on its way to being builtā¦ā¦
They could offer a...
Mine also. Dave do you have an Order ID number on your My Toyota App?
As for the spec, these cars are always generously kitted out as standard and Iām sure the new model wonāt disappoint - my previous cars were with āSunroofā so I would guess āPano Sunroofā will be bigger but either one is fine...
3 of my previous 4 LCās have been new and I have always had to select the towbar as an extra, from different dealers too. The last one was 2022 Invincible and they could only fit it months after the delivery as the wiring looms were made in Ukraine up to then at least.
Iām sure you could get it...
Yes, Iāve ordered a tow bar. They didnāt know the exact cost (another example of Toyota UK not being ready for this carās arrival) so started quoting big numbers but in fairness agreed to do it for the HiLux price of Ā£800 which I accepted.
Iāve had 3 LCās from this dealer and put my Ā£500 down in Aug last year so I donāt see them messing me around but your news worries me, especially as I have just sold my Sept 2022 LC in prep for this oneā¦ā¦ā¦
Yes, very dull chat for our US friends!!
Decuma grey but wanted the meteor shower silver. Having had 4 previous LCās I know that their paint is thin and they scratch easily so thought silver would hide that bestā¦ā¦.
Dave - I hope your dealer confirms the order and you get your blue choice.
One of my previous LCās was decuma grey and that was metallic but Iāve seen the Toyota UK paint choice page for the Invincible at itās def non-metallic
Iām a little concerned at the price jump from the old model and what this will mean for residual values but Iām telling myself itās not dissimilar to other brands and the short supply should help assuming itās as good as all the reports suggest
Dave - I agree that this is a shambolic purchase process. I put a Ā£500 deposit down in early August 2023 and had radio silence until last week when they took substantially more to proceed with the build. I have an order number and thatās about it.
The UK website showed a car in Meteor Shower...
