Cool truck. I'm just up the road from you in Lone Tree.
I wanted to do a ride over Hagerman Pass later this week but the wife doesn't want to go . . . yet. I'm still working on it.
If I can't convince her, we'll probably do an easy ride down Rampart Range Road and, time permitting, up to...
See post 31, "I found out today by installing, that if you push the volume knob it will mute the audio." There are another one or two but I don't feel like looking for them.
Just one point I'd like to clarify here.
Several posters have mentioned that pushing the volume knob doesn't turn it off, but merely mutes the sound. That is not correct.
I did a test with my iPod. I pushed the volume knob in the middle of a song and it shut off. A long while later I pushed...
A couple questions.
Does the LC have a transmission cooler? If so, does it have a fan?
And while we're on the subject, does the turbo have an intercooler? Just curious.
Anyway, if you're not too far, I could drive up there and take my LC over the same trail to see if my transmission gets hot.
So it looks like you're way above "universal averages" for Aluminum, Iron, Copper, Molybdenum and Silicon.
I had a Blackstone analysis done on a new motorcycle I'd purchased (2005 BMW R1200GS) and it was similarly high. My understanding is that break-in oil change analysis is always high in...
I feel the same way as you did. But they do the job so I'm keeping them on for now.
Did you get your shipping costs repaid, there and back?
Also, have you seen that they've dropped the price 40%, from $58 to $34.80 on Amazon? I guess they've had a lot of returns.
The catalytic converter has to get to a certain, pretty high, temperature in order to do its job. As a result, the engine will run continuously until the cat gets up to that temp.
Short drives, therefore, make minimal (or no) use of the hybrid system because the engine needs to run...
I agree with you but also agree with the OP in some ways.
I was curiious about the solvents the OP mentioned so I did a little Google research and found a post by a high-plced Meguire's guy. He said car waxes, such as carbuba, are rock hard and need a solvent to turn them into a paste or...
I'm originally from Washington DC so, naturally, my screen name is Colorado . . .
Actually, I never left the city, or even the neighborhood, until we took a road trip to Colorado when I was 9. I'd never seen such clear blue skies and unimaginably beautiful rocky mountains or felt dry air on my...
"It ain't the arrows, it's the Indian."
All of our LCs are, for mpg purposes, virtually identical. Lots of owners, including me, have consistently averaged 23+ mpg since purchasing their LC. You can too, I bet.
I wonder what kind of mileage we'd get if we swapped cars. My bet would be that the...
Those are my numbers exactly, now at 2,300 miles. I drive an LCLC, use premium fuel, have my tires at 35 psi and use eco mode. Most of my miles are at 55 - 60 mph in the mountains of Colorado. I believe 55 - 65 mph is the LC's mileage "happy zone." It's fast enough to get over rolling resistance...
Like DenisLM, I hand wash mine in the warmer months. I give it a clay bar treatment followed by a good hand waxing several times between April and November.
In the winter months, it goes to the nearby touchless car wash (with underbody wash) and quickie air blower followed by hand drying.
I...
My LCLC came with cross bars and I noticed wind noise on the drive home after purchasing it. I took them off right away and the wind noise stopped completely. (I'd also guess that I get slightly better gas mileage too.)
Looking at the FE's roof rack profile, with more cross members and weight...
I got this as a dealer add-on but have never used it. In fact, it's never been taken out of the wrapper. List price is $130 I will sell for $70. Local pick up only in Denver, Colorado area.
i've heard that same thing about Costco using Techron.
Costco pumps do say "Top Tier" on them. Our local Costco gets gas from Offen Petroleum, at least that is what it says on the side of the fuel trucks.
BTW, the wife and I went fishing at Tomahawk SWA today, 213.x miles. We got 24.4 mpg...
It went away at well under 1,000 miles. It isnt unusual for exhaust manifolds, pipes and other exhaust parts to have some oils on them when they're installed. Once it burns off, the smell goes away.
I noticed a very faint smell of burning oil at first, mainly when I pulled into the garage after a long drive. It went away after a week or so and hasn't been noticed since. I'd completely forgotten about that until you mentioned it.
No problem. The traction battery is 288 volts. The way it was explained to me, the hybrid system has about 7 computers that run all the various systems. The 12v battery is like a normal car battery, and it's primary function is to bring all the computers online. Once that's done, the traction...
Mine is Rocinante, the name Cervantes gave to Don Quixote's horse. (That doesn't make me Don Quixote, does it?)
But unlike Don Quixote's horse, my LC isn't skinny, awkward, past its prime or ill-suited for its activities. And like Don Q, I plan to have many exciting adventures with the old nag.
I did it at 931 miles. My local Toyota dealer has coupons for a full synthetic oil and filter change for $29.99, so why not?
I wish I'd asked for a sample, though. I'd like to see how it looked and would've sent it in for analysis. On well, maybe next time.
I'm glad you posted this. After a little trial and error, I found the steps to turn this feature on and off.
1. Start the car
2. Put the shifter in "D" (the icon doesn't appear unless you're in Drive)
3. Hit the "View" button
4. Activate the icon that looks like a coffee cup with an A...
The two squares in the photo are where the tie-downs are located. You'd have to cut out a piece of the mat there to access the tie downs. There are raised edges to help keep leakage to a minimum.
