I just can't ever see myself reaching behind the driver seat or the passenger seat to get anything.
I would have to get out of the vehicle open the rear door to get anything so it would be rather inconvenient.
However, I could certainly imagine using that if I was car camping.
Silly question but I think asking you would be quicker than searching for it in the manual.
How do you program your key fob to unlock all doors and the tailgate with one press?
Lmao follow EOD's instruction above. I'm going to try to figure out a way to make a mechanical solution so I don't need a screwdriver on me at all times and I can simply turn something with my hand to make it work.
Wow! You are incredibly helpful. Thank you!!
I'd like to figure out a way where I don't need a screwdriver and I can somehow MacGyver a mechanical solution on the interior so I can get out whenever I'm sleeping and car camping...
Yes, that's what I was thinking as well for your latter suggestion.
There's a removable piece of plastic trim on the inside of the tailgate as an emergency in case someone got locked in.
I removed that trim piece already. However, I'm trying to come up with some manual switch that makes it...
Nice. I removed that piece as well on my 58. I wanted to make the hatch openable from the inside.
Have you figured out how to do that yet?
I was hoping to make something like a switch or something that I could open the hatch from the inside when I'm camping.
Lmao totally agree. My past vehicles also stated some ridiculous low number for the cargo and I have car camped with my misses about 90 days of the year and have had conservatively 3 times the "limit" on the cheap plastic cargo parts and never had a problem.
I think all manufacturers state some...
" I can't conceive of how you could put enough load on it to break it "
I sure could. I weigh 200 lb and when I sit on the tailgate to put on my shoes take off my shoes or just hang out. Most of my weight is on that 7 in.
It's just a stupid choice of materials and designed by Toyota...
You just can't open them when you're lying on them or there's something on top of them.
But I like the OEM design and hoped they would have mimicked that and retained the storage compartments.
90% of the time I'm not lying on top of them or have something on them where I cant access them. So...
That's correct for where the rear seats used to be.
However, the front platform that touches the tailgate is what I'm referring to.
The OEM storage compartments (on the front portion ) are gone with their system.
I appreciate that. I Have looked at their system, however it deletes all of the original storage by the tailgate and behind the hybrid battery where the OEM storage was.
So I'm not a fan of it.
But I'm going to sit tight until I either find something that makes sense for me or I'll make it...
Thank you. It looks great. However, I have removed the rear seats and I'm mostly interested in a flat platform that Is as low as (possible ) on top of the hybrid battery and doesn't raise the floor at all.
I need all the vertical space in the cargo area I can get as I use it for work.
Do you...
