Anybody try the Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail AT? I will be on pavement 90% or more of the time and when I do go off-road, it will most likely not be hard core rock crawling or mudding. I think the most extreme I'll be getting would be something like the Alpine Loop in Colorado. I've read good...
Is it just me or is the rear skid (PT228-35241) not available on any of the sites that are part of this network? You can identify the dealers that are part of this network by their URL. Each one starts with "autoparts.dealerXXX.com":
None of the ones I tried recognized the part number for...
Not trying to be a jerk but I'm curious which tires you are looking at that are so much heavier. I've been trying to make that decision of C vs E rated and after your post, got "worried" about the additional weight. However, when I looked at a few I found these results for LT285/70R17 and...
I found that when I looked at Costco, the price was the same which surprised me. If they are the same when I purchase mine, I’ll go with Discount Tire. I’ve been VERY happy with my local store. Free rotation, balance, etc for life of tire and they keep their appointments unlike my local Costco...
I'm thinking they may stay in "Build" status until all the Port Installed Options are completed and ready to load onto a train or truck. Just guessing here though.
You can mount just about anything to a Prinsu (or any of the other aftermarket racks). I've attached tents, MaxTracks, shovels, kayaks, bikes, lumber, and much more to mine. However, I'm guess you are asking about racks that have a clamp with 2 bolts that you tighten down that you may typically...
So, I haven't read through all 4 pages of this thread but did find this article that seems to put a good argument forward as to why Toyota recommends higher octane for LC than Taco. Specifically, here's the section related to the fuel:
This also speaks to another discussion in another thread...
Yeah, I grew up in Anchorage and remember when it was like $3.00 for a 6-pack of pop (Cokes/Sodas for those that live in the south ;)) ......in the 80's. It's crazy that it costs more to ship it than the rack itself costs.
I ordered my Prinsu on 6/19 and they said it should ship on 7/26. I'm...
I feel the same way when I go to my local dealer. They were pretty uneducated about it. However, the sales guy at the Lexus dealer was pretty informed about the GX. Maybe that’s why he was at the Lexus dealership instead of the Toyota dealer…..he’d done his homework.
Do you happen to have any other shots from different angles? I'm trying to decide between the Prinsu and the Front Runner.
Also, how difficult was the install?
My concern about using a couple of these options is whether the truck thinks it’s actually towing something. I’m not a mechanic or automotive engineer so I don’t know the right words to use but I believe it changes some thing so that truck stays in lower gear for longer thinking it needs more...
FYI, I have the coolbox in my LX570 and I absolutely love it when on long, overlanding trips. I tend to travel in warmer areas when overlanding and it is awesome having cold drinks readily available without having to get out, swing my hitch mounted Mountain Bike out of the way, open the...
Both. I know that there are people that are true experts on things and can tell the difference and take advantage of something like a $3,000 set of golf clubs or afficiandos that able to discern and enjoy the difference in a $400 bottle of bourbon. I'm not one of those people when it comes to...
My personal opinion? Probably not unless you are also one of those people that can tell the difference between a $3,000 set of golf clubs and a $100 set of clubs. :)
