I was looking at these the other day and it looks like the new Tacoma and LC share the same rear skid plate. I found that interesting but NOT COMPLETELY surprising since I think they are sharing the same frame, amongst other things.

That's really weird! I'm in Tennessee and I did a search within 500 miles and I may have found 1 or 2 that did not have the 20" wheels. I'd fly out to ABQ to get one with 18's but it would probably cost more than just buying new 18' wheels when you add up the airfare, food, hotel(s) and gas to...

Does anyone happen to have the same info for the 20" wheels. I'd prefer the 18's as well but not sure I'll get the option since most of them seem to be coming with the 20's on them and I don't have the budget right now to do both tires AND wheels.

Just a heads-up for those folks thinking about Icon wheels. I got some for my LX570 several years ago and within a year, the machined surfaces were delaminating in spots. It's hard to explain but my understanding is that after they machine the wheels, they seal them in a clearcoat. Anyway, mine...

I’ll have to be honest though, I do really like the Trailhunter version that comes with 2” lift and Old Man Emu suspension, on board air, sliders, skids, Rigid light bar, etc. all covered by Toyota warranty.

@Rhino-Rack , One more question: In the render you posted at the top of this thread, it looks like the platform barely makes it past the B Piller. Is that accurate or does it extend further towards the front?

I doubt it. I was thinking the same thing but was hoping for a Trailhunter edition instead. However, I saw a quote somewhere from the head of engineering for Land Cruiser and 4Runner. He basically said the 4Runner, Tacoma, and Tundra's are quintessential American vehicles and the market supports...

@Rhino-Rack , do you have an estimated cost and ballpark on when the Pioneer will be available?

Yeah, it would be great if we could get a copy of the RM with working links. I have a copy of that for my 200 Series and it's invaluable. I'd pay a good amount for that but free would be even nicer! ;)

Has anyone gotten a copy of the official repair manual(s) yet? I would love to get a copy. Having easy access to the repair manual saved me thousands on my 200 series as I was able to do all my own regular maintenance (fluids, brakes, etc) as well as replace the radiator, plugs, alternator...

Here's a long thread on Mud about what folks went through in the early days of installing aftermarket racks on the 200 series. I personally didn't have any problems when I installed mine but I had the advantage of other people blazing the trail and figuring out how NOT to do it.

Would love to keep this thread alive as people start installing. I know that there were some nightmares early on with the Prinsu (and other manufacturers) installation on the 200 Series as people were breaking/losing "nut plates" as they removed the OEM rails if I recall correctly. It required...

If anything, I think it would be an ARB one since they've partnered pretty heavily on the new Tacoma and 6G 4runner (Trailhunter) but I think we'd have already seen something shouting that it was ARB.

Can any of you comment on the amount of wind noise from a Pioneer rack? I've had a Prinsu on my 200 series for several years and it's pretty quiet but it does have a wind deflector built in whereas the Pioneer does not. Thanks!
