I installed Falken Rubitreks 265/70/R18. They’re a great A/T but weight much less than the Wildpeaks. I didn’t see a big MPG difference. In fact, just did a 600 mile road trip and saw 21.9-23.1 MPG. I believe they are more quiet of the highway too.
Great choice. I've been liking mine. Just finished a 600 mile round trip and averaged 21.9 to 23.1 MPG at 70-80 MPH. I think the weight difference matters.
I had 265/70/R18 Falken Rubitreks put on today. First, the ride is softer and improved. They are more noisy than the stock Yokohama Geolanders that come with the 1958 but I honestly am unsure if they're quieter than the Wildpeak AT3Ws I have on my Tundra. They cost about half what the Wildpeaks...
Supposed to be. I haven’t received mine yet but can report back after installed.
I just didn’t want to undo all the engineering that went into the 250 getting decent gas mileage. Needed something better than the 245/70 that came with the 1958 though. Seemed like a good compromise.
I’ll report...
I’ve ordered a set of Falken Rubitreks for these exact reasons. I have AT3s on my Tundra and they’re great, but I want something more highway friendly for the Land Cruiser. They weigh much less and cost a lot less. Still an AT but with better road manners and standard load. I ordered 265/70 for...
Welcome and congrats. I’m up in Davis county and to date have only seen 2 new Land Cruisers in the wild. I’ll keep an eye out for you.
Did you already sell your original roof rails?
Agreed. I’ve accepted the fact that this is an advanced vehicle that makes lots of different noises. It drives great.
I did an oil change at 1200 miles and it was clean and clear.
Anyone find the part numbers for the roof rails yet?
Sounds like there may be many 1958 owners wanting to add them.
I’m interested in roof rails and am located in Utah if anyone is wanting to off load theirs.
Agreed!
Excited to learn more about our trucks, mods, etc. Good place to be with similar vehicles in discussion.
I’ve always wanted a Land Cruiser… since I’ve been a teenager and used to test drive 60 series.
Always wanted a return to form Land Cruiser. I appreciate the 200 series but it...
Interested in this also.
I’m additionally looking for a mat or cover of sorts for the rear floor where the plastic comes down from the center AC controls. That plastic piece will be stepped on and all scuffed up.
I’ve used Clazzio before and their seat covers are good. As I recall, my Tundra was $500-$600. Most people think my truck has factory leather.
I submitted their form requesting seat covers for the Land Cruiser. Maybe if enough of us do the same it will be prioritized...

Great insight and research.
Are you able to look into the multi cameras option? I see under the rear view mirrors there is a plate that could be replaced with a camera. Curious if the wiring is such that the side and front cameras could be plugged in and the switch installed?
My experience...
