Something to consider is the Falken Wildpeaks have a history of dry rot issues. There was a recall for a small batch of tires but not sure if they have fixed the issue with dry rot yet. It appears they use a rubber that dries out and cracks within a few years
I thought about that. I originally had 18" and 20" wheels as options as well but I ran out of the number of poll options so I had to simplify my poll. I just want to get an average with all the variables included for now except heavily modified larger tires.
This poll is only intended for people with 1,000+ miles on their Land Cruiser to get past the initial break in period so only answer if you have over 1,000 miles on your vehicle. We're going to break it down between 1958, LC LC and First Edition models to see how they compare. My assumption is...
Do you happen to have any parents or grandparents who served in the military? If so, you would qualify for Navy Federal Credit union and if you have good credit they are offering 4.5% right now and you wouldn't have that restriction.
Saw this posted in the thread. I still wouldn't want to buy it after seeing the pictures. Probably mostly fine but I would be changing the differential fluid.
Police told him this was how it was stolen. I know they don't have definitive proof since the vehicle is gone but it's most likely how it was stolen.
Do you have any information on the new system that is supposed to be more secure? I can't find anything discussing it when I search for it.
18 inches you say?.... I doubt this is feasible or would even look right but here is a very rough mockup of the 18" wheels with a topo decal... Trail Dust color in mind with the bronze Toyota wheel caps. Would be kind of cool to find someone who could powder coat the wheels with a design like...
I’m guessing part of the design is to make sure fuel is getting to the pump if you’re running low and on severe angles while off roading. It would be interesting to see pictures of the GX550 fuel tank design to see if it has similar features.
That said, there is clearly room for at least a 20...
No idea if what he's saying is accurate. Is there anyone on the forum driving one that doesn't have that sound? Every one I've test driven while I wait for mine to arrive has sounded the same with that 4 cylinder direct injection ticking sound. Doesn't sound like he's too concerned about the...
This is completely anecdotal. I took my wife's Honda Pilot into the dealer for routine maintenance and asked them to check a few things. They came back and said it needed a new engine which I thought was crazy since it drove fine and had nothing wrong with it but it was under warranty with no...
To me, this looks like a case of either a misinformed dealership service department or one taking advantage of a customer concern and billing Toyota for warranty work that is probably unneeded. Once they listened to every Land Cruiser on the lot and they sounded the same, it should have been...
Can anyone chime in on the Nokian Outpost nAT tires as well? I've read a few reviews that say they are louder than the Mickey Thomson Baja Boss and few other options out there I'm considering but haven't seen any reviews really with them on the LC
I know a GX550 was stolen in Canada a few months ago so i'm not sure we are immune. He left it parked in a hotel parking lot while on vacation and it was gone when he came back. I believe he posted at one point that the police said they probably cloned the key. He did end up buying another GX to...
These vehicles don’t have an alternator from my understanding so if there is a loose connection on the 12v battery terminal or the battery discharges enough, it sounds like it may cause several systems to shut down. If this is true, I’m surprised they didn’t figure out a way to use the hybrid...
