Agree on his click bait titles and voice. Was just one of the first reviews that came up when I found the product. The 2nd video I think is more helpful. I can tell you have a strong opinion here and that's fine. The reviews on the Quick Twist are good. Every product has it's downside.
I've used fumoto valve's as well on my vehicles. Reading some of the comments made it sound like in the Land Cruiser it might be a bit vulnerable which was why I was curious about this other design since it looks more rugged being stainless steel rather than brass. I'll have the FE skid plates...
I was about to pull the trigger on the Fumoto valve but came across this one. Stainless steel, looks more appropriate for an off road vehicle. Probably makes sense to keep the drain tube attachment in the vehicle in case you drop it off for an oil change. Thoughts? I'll finally get my LC in a...
some people on the GX 550 forums report seeing the double image as well. It’s related to the double pane of glass. Some manufacturers install HUD specific windshields with a coating on the inside of the glass which is polarized to only reflect back one of the panes of glass. Sounds like at least...
This is windshield related, not a defective HUD unit. If you read up on other Toyota forums it can be hit and miss with other models as well. This is something to pay attention to when replacing cracked windshields as the replacement can cause the double image if it’s not the correct type of...
Controls the hybrid system to provide quick, powerful acceleration.
My interpretation of this is they are telling us it is using the battery more aggressively to increase torque and responsiveness. This might be why some people are reporting better gas mileage while in Sport mode.
When the majority of vehicles you see in an area are dune buggy type vehicles, that's usually a good indication of what type of vehicle you should be driving as well. The current LC250 is a very capable vehicle when used as intended. Jeeps and Broncos are more capable off road but lack...
Trailman - Love getting the family out in nature hiking and exploring wherever we can find trails. Making memories before the kids are gone and hoping they want to keep it up with their families as they start them.
Great uncle of mine developed the early warning badges to detect radiation leaks for workers on nuclear sites. Kept trying to retire and the military kept throwing more money at him because they couldn’t find anyone to take his place. Worked at Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore labs for several...
I think governments need to do a few above ground tests again to remind humanity in 4K VR why we don’t want to escalate wars with nuclear powers around the world.
Try two coats of rainx as well. Silicone windshield wipers tend not to scrape off the rainx as fast. Get some invisible glass cleaner for the interior. Invisible Glass Cleaner

Makes sense why the system sounds anemic to people with it trying to flatten out the curves and eliminate frequencies it thinks are noise. Great for driving around without the stereo on but neuters the stereo.
Sounds like the best solution is sound deadening and defeating ANC. Like all first...
Crutchfield ANC article
Looks like Crutchfield has wiring harnesses you can plug into the Toyota system to disable the ANC system and eliminate the subwoofer issues.
I
I think you can get close enough by just seeing how much you fill up with when the gauge says refuel and subtract the gallons from 17.9. You should have 40 miles range roughly if averaging 20mpg. No need to run out of fuel
From the GX550 forum. Sounds like what you are looking at are for the active noise cancelation system in the vehicle. This is why they do not appear to emit sound.
Can anyone confirm if the rear hatch has a sub or are we looking at the "speaker" that is part of the ANC system? The rear hatch on the GX550 has a ANC speaker that people thought were dummy speakers.
Have you removed the door panels yet? Thinking about customizing the First Edition lettering on the door panels in mine once it comes in when I do some additional sound proofing in the doors so they don't sound so tinny when they close. I was wondering if the small panels that say First Edition...
I agree. The 26 minute mark is where they discuss oil interval changes but the entire discussion is interesting and worth watching in my opinion because you get a better in-depth understanding of what is happening early on in the engine break in period. Toyota branded oil is Mobile 1 synthetic...
Ask your dealer to email Portland Logistics and have them request your vin be put on a priority list. Mine was stuck in purgatory in Portland as well until this was done. My friend who works for Toyota corporate was told by Portland Logistics it’s a roof rack shortage but roof racks are arriving...
In case people missed it, here is a video worth watching that will help understand the importance of engine maintenance and frequency of oil changes. I’m planning on 5,000 mile intervals for a couple of reasons:
1.) Longer turbo life
2.) I enjoy maintaining vehicles and plan to own this one a...
Appreciate your build thread. Love what you are doing with your vehicle. Mine has finally shipped via rail and on its way. I'm looking forward to working on it and getting rid of the boxes piling up with stuff waiting for it to arrive.
