๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome to the new Land Cruiser Forum - Please post an introduction thread!

current gen 3 4Runner owner. Wife had an 07 FJ that we regrettably traded in for an 06 Infiniti G35 a little over a decade ago. Currently the gen 3 4runner is our only vehicle but we have a deposit placed on a 2024 LC with premium package in underground color that was supposed to arrive by 6/07 before the QC delays.

We have never spent more than $30k on a vehicle and while we can objectively afford the purchase, itโ€™s been a difficult decision and I need help from this forum to keep us motivated!

Welcome to the forum. You will find plenty of help here but know that the new Toyota rollout is far from a success with many shortages and little information provided by the manufacturer. The general feeling is things will eventually settle out as initial demands are met and production returns to normal. $70+ K is a lot to spend on an untested vehicle for sure, but everything seems headed in the same direction. We all are counting on Toyota's reputation for long term reliability. Everyone on this forum has a friendly, positive attitude with no bashing going on. That is nice.

Good afternoon! Glad to join the forum and community. A little about myself... An outdoorsman often found hiking, fly fishing, off-roading, or just enjoying a nice road trip on a sunny afternoon. I've owned many a rig... Specific to Toyota, 2 Tundras ('08 SR5, '14 1794), 2 FJ Cruisers (2008 and a 2013 Trail Teams), and now my 2024 Land Cruiser First Edition (just picked it up 5/31). Also a Jeep guy with a '22 392 Wrangler and '21 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (my wife's current rig).

Hello all,

Iโ€™m in Lake Tapps, near Tacoma, WA, and currently have a deposit on a First Edition in Heritage Blue, but have no idea when Iโ€™ll get to see it. I own a 2014 FJ Cruiser Ultimate Edition, and a 2013 JKR. Looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks about their new Land Cruisersโ€ฆonce they start arriving from the ports.

Iโ€™m in Lake Tapps, and Iโ€™ve got a deposit on a 2024 LC FE. The dealership tells me itโ€™s at the Port of Portland waiting for the skid plates to be installed, but theyโ€™ve given up on telling me when it will arrive. Iโ€™m guessing youโ€™ve been happy with your gen 3 4Runner, which is why youโ€™re getting the new LC?

Waiting for my Landcruiser Landcruiser Edition (with Premium Pkg). I was able to drive the 2024 and it confirmed my desire to own one.

Finally got my (2024) Land Cruiser 1958 after waiting for 50 years (for a Land Cruiser). Would have preferred the simple FJ40 still seen in many other countries such as Pakistan and Africa, but will have to make do with this new contraption full of electronics and complicated drive train using premium unleaded (didn't know this). At least it gets slightly better fuel economy than the older generations.

As I get older, I like the modern electronics.... well most of them.

Greetings from sunny South Africa! I am a massive Land Cruiser fan and have been following the US launch closely. I really enjoy the threads and discussions on this forum, so thank you to you all for the contributions and pictures. Our J250 launch has been delayed and I have been trying to get my hands on a LC as quickly as possible. I'm hoping to get an FE or top-end spec, which we call a VX-R here. I am very envious of the hybrid petrol engine you guys have access to as we only have one option, which is a 2.8-litre diesel 4-cylinder. The engine is strong enough, very reliable and more fuel efficient but will have nowhere near the performance of the US version. Another difference is we have 3 rows as standard across all our models. Attached are some pictures of beautiful FE from my dealer who I am pushing to get hold of! I currently own a J150 version. Another difference is the 300 is also sold here in South Africa (considerably more expensive than this version - about 30k USD more) so this J250 is known locally as the LC Prado. I will post an update if anyone is interested when I hopefully get my beauty soon!

Hi everybody,
I am based in Oregon, in my late 50s. Exploring the West for over 20 years, since we moved to this beautiful country. Always been a Toyota guy: Camry to Sienna to Highlander.

Now I plan to take it up a notch and get a mid-level LC, to be able to venture further off-road.

Highlander was serving us quite well for 13 years, but lack of underbody protection recently costed me dearly - a large hole in the gas tank derailed our expedition into Owyhee Canyonlands.

We've been camping in the car since 2020, using a plywood platform I built during COVID. Plan to adjust the platform for LC, It seems the measurements are almost identical.

I appreciate insights I get from the forum, as I plan to put an order.

I've been here for a while, but here's my introduction. A brief history of my Toyotas:
Toyotas.jpg
I've started looking for a suitable replacement for my 2014 FJ TTUE MT. I had an AWD Subaru between the pickup and the first FJ, and briefly a rented Jeep with full time 4WD, and I refuse to live without full time 4WD ever since, both my FJs have been manual transmission simply for the full time 4WD. Toyota hasn't had any options I was really crazy about until the new Land Cruiser. And I wouldn't mind a little more cargo room! I'm still a little curious what the new FJ will end up like when it comes out later this year, but the chances of it having full time 4WD seem really low. let alone the chances of it being anywhere as nice as the land cruiser.

Been to Africa several times (though not South Africa) and there sure are a lot of Land Cruisers. Got the new Land Cruiser and I have mixed feelings about the turbo-charged power train and the requirement for premium unleaded gas. I like the fact that it is hybrid, not so much the turbo charge. I care more about reliability and cheaper gas and fuel economy. Wish I could take drive my new Land Cruiser to Africa - it's more fun and adventurous there. The only excitement we get here is when we get shot at.

Hello fellow LC enthusiasts!
Iโ€™m in metro Atlanta Georgia. I currently have a 2015 Highlander with over 210K miles and looking to trade it out. I just placed a deposit on a Meteor Shower LC trim with premium package and 20โ€ wheels at MSRP due Aug 12. The only thing I donโ€™t want is the 20โ€ wheels but thatโ€™s what was available.

Hi! I live near the mountains in east TN. I am waiting on the arrival of my Land Cruiser (stuck in QC hold). I also have 4Runners. Off-road trips are few, but winter weather & mountain roads make 4WD a must!

Same where I live (mountains and snow). Is that a '99 SR5? Had exactly the same truck - regret selling it to this day.

Put a deposit on the Land Cruiser last week. It seems awesome but I havenโ€™t actually seen or driven one! Iโ€™ve had MR2 turbo, 2 4 runners (still have one), 2 Tundras and an FJ Cruiser. Ordered trail dust premium. Everything about it looks good. Enjoying reading other forum members posts should hit the ground running!

Hi,

Iโ€™m new to the forum and will soon be a new owner of a Meteor Shower colored 2024 Land Cruiser, 1958 trim. Which will be my daily driver and modded a bit for some summer overlanding trips out west. Eventually I anticipate adding a lift and some bigger tires.

I live in the western suburbs of Chicago and would like to get to know others interested in a bit of off-roading and overlanding.

Dave P.
