After some digging, I just ordered this....... we'll see what it turns into

I like the mute button being low so hand/arm movements don't draw attention when pressing the mute. I might flush mount this into the panel below the AC controls............ I own a milling machine and skills....LOL

We have a USB-C adapter coming out that has native 5V/9V/12V output. This solution from 21Offroad works, though you're technically stepping down 12V down to 5V back up to 12V with this setup. Works fine, just kind of silly in a way.

Our new adapter also has parking mode, but not ready to show it off yet due to patents. You can get a pre-production sneak peak here:

FYI, there's two ports I'd recommend for dashcam install: the 5-pin connector under the domelight, and the 10-pin connector powering your rearview.

I am looking for just radar detector , the in dash connection is type c , but then you have to run cord up to windshield , I would rather have a connection coming from around mirror , what do or will you have ?

Ours is Type-C! You can use a type-C to RJ11 plug for full native 12V operation. Our adapter isn't ready for another 3 mo but we'll have some units for field testing soon.

Alternatively you can use a solution from MirrorTap: MirrorTap Power Cord

Their stuff is old school but it'll solve your problem in like 3 minutes.. happy to tell you which pins to 'tap' if you end up going that route.
 
@PixelMagic: I wouldn't do it... their Toyota compatible SKU plugs into the Toyota Safety Sense... It probably works OK but they don't currently offer an adapter that plugs into the purpose-built 5-pin connector in the roof at the moment. They opted to use the TSS computer plug because not all Toyotas have an autodimming mirror or the 5-pin connector, whereas 100% of new Toyotas have a Toyota Safety Computer up there. I decided not to go that route because I'm actually US-based and easier to sue if something goes wrong. Their plug:

I also have a bone to pick with them because they (and other asia based brands) started ordering our products and literally ripped them off. A normal part of competition though.

Thanks all for this thread and info. On my FJ I have a multi outlet adapter powered with a fuse tap to the fuse box under the dash -- it doesn't look like the Land Cruiser has a fuse box in the cabin?

it's down here. Haven't tried it but if its like my 2024 Tacoma, its probably covered up by two plastic panels and zero clearance for a add-a-circuit fuse taps without cutting plastic or just not putting the plastic covers back on. The official solution from Toyota to add aftermarket stuff is already wired into the car, such as AUX switches in their trucks and the 5-pin connector in the roof.
 
My plan for accessory's is to add a fused relay auxiliary box in the 12V battery location. I normally make one of the relays a dedicated ACCY circuit, feeding a buss bar, which powers any "Key-On" accessories. One each for a winch, air compressor, lights and powered steps etc....

So I am not clear as to what you recommend for radar detectors only .
