I know there have been VIN tracking threads on here, but I can't find what I'm looking for.

Here in Canada, we don't have a means of tracking our LC's arrival from the VIN#. And what I've also learned from this forum is that R5 in the VIN signifies Tahara plant manufacture, whereas RK denotes Hino. I'm also under the understanding that those are the ONLY 2 plants manufacturing the Land Cruiser.

I just (minutes ago) receive my VIN from my Canadian dealer. It is the following: JTEABFAJ0S5010814

The dealer's not exactly been proactive with giving me this information, and so far, after several "free" online VIN searches, I've only found one that shows the trim. It says 1958, but I'm hoping that's incorrect as I've been told I'm getting an LC non-premium (and I don't want a '58). Can anyone tell me anything about my vehicle's anticipated delivery date based on that VIN, and trim level? And I'm assuming R5 become S5 for the 2025 model year?

Great resource. You may be right about S5 because Tahara is shown on pg 10. No trim indicated. Wonder what the 2025 code is for Hino.

I would assume SK. Since posting, I've learned the S does indicate the year, the following digit (K for Hino), indicates plant.

Your VIN shows up on the NHTSA system at Welcome to VIN Decoding :: provided by vPIC which has a lot of detail on the vehicle configuration. In terms of delivery dates, my experience in the US is the dealer is the best source and they have almost no information.
Yep, same in Canada. It's killing me. I'm being told last week of December.

I've had a deposit down for 15 months now, and I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, wondering if that fat bastard Santa is actually gonna show up this year.

Did you actually enter my VIN on that site? I hardly see any info at all when I enter it. Really just make and model.

Yes, the information is broken down into about 14 pages. You have to step through them for all the details. However, most of the info is probably stuff you already expect.

OK, I think I was on the recall page because the VIN decoder is showing currently down for maintenance. Thanks for the info, will try again tomorrow. (y)
