20" Wheel Tires replacement? - med offroad use /hwy driver

I’m keeping the stock Dunlops on 20’s for the summer until they wear out. I personally will probably not need an aggressive tread. Thankfully the lc is equipped with a great 4wd system. I’ve taken the stock Dunlops in the woods and they have done ok for the terrain that I’ll put a $70k vehicle in.

For better mileage, go with a lighter SL Load tire...Toyo, At3, Cooper Discover R&T, Falken Rubitrek. (my preference...in that order)

Tirerack is helpful here, whether you buy from them or not, because they use a separate category for “On-Road All-Terrain” and “Off-Road All-Terrain” and even more categories for mud and rugged tire usage. You can see a nice list of AT tires that are pointed at people like us who want a little something for the fire roads that take us to the hike trailheads, but don’t want to listen to it the other 99% of the time we drive.

A few options I see there in the 275/60/20 size:

Nitro Nomad Grappler
Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail
Vredestein Pinza
Bridgestone Dueler Ascent
Continental TerrainContact AT

I haven’t tried any of them. I have Wildpeak AT3 on my Tahoe and I guarantee it’s too much AT for my usage pattern.

For my Land Cruiser I have snow tires going on for winter and will probably drive the Dunlops in the other seasons until I wear them out, then move to something like the above.
