Tire Upgrade ?

Can you take a side pic I what to see the wheels in that color please . Thinking of doing the same titanium wheels on mine and think they might look good against the heritage blue

Has anyone had any issues (or heard of any issues) running 17 inch wheels? I’m curious if mud and debris could get stuck and cause issues, given the tight clearance.

I’ve thought the same thing. I will stick with the 18’s.

There are many here running 17s. I had the same question and after rooting around I see that there are quite a few and some have claimed up to 1/2" of brake clearance with some wheels or pretty close but fine with other wheels. I know Method has been selling 17s to 250s.

I even started a new tab on a copy of the tire spreadsheet for 17s.

I’m gonna go against the grain here and just warn some people that the KO3 can be hit or miss. I had them put on with the Tacoma (18” 45mm offset) wheels and the ride at 68-75 is bumpy as if a tire has a hard or flat spot. They’ve tried to rotate, balance, road force balance like 3 times now. I’ll be swapping back to OE nittos or lighter Toyos. I’ve run KO2 E rated on my FJ and Taco and never had this kinda ride. Pretty bummed.
To follow up:

Went to DT again today. Got one of the tires swapped out after 3 balances did not stop bad shakes. The shake has been reduced like 80%+ now. Rides pretty good. Apparently the β€œbad” tire was showing over 40 on road force balance. From my limited knowledge that seems really high? I’m surprised they were hoping I would live with that?

After parking next to this monster back in July (first photo) I decided to do a small upgrade (because size does matter)... Went from 275/70/18 (33.2") to 285/75/18 (34.8") KO3 tires, requiring only minimal adjustments to the front fender clips. Used Toytec strut spacer and Spidertrax wheel spacer on the stock wheels, without any cutting required. Only downside so far is no room for spare tire.View attachment 12051

Any rubbing issues with this setup?

My LC is 1-4 weeks out still and I’ve been working with my dealer on swapping out the 20” β€œpremier” wheels for 17” w/285/70/17. The method mr316 was one option but I chose the 707 instead. I didn’t pull the trigger yet but seeing your pics may push me to do just that.

Is yours still stock (no lift/level kit) and have you had any issues with rubbing? I will be doing off roading and was concerned about tire size being too much.

Toytec 1.5” leveler, 18” TRD wheels and 35” Toyos. It’s close but no rubbing.

This with the Toyo leveling kit you used is identical setup to that video on how to fit 35"on. And I really like this look. No offset and looks solid.
