Snorkel on the Land Cruiser?

Anyone know if similar snorkel on the Tacoma Trailhunter can be installed on the LC?
 
There's a photo floating around of a pre-production one seen in public with a snorkel. Hopefully someone can dig it up?
 
I’ve seen some of the Land Cruiser photos in the Middle East coming off trailers that have a spot on one of the front fenders with a plastic piece where you would add a snorkel. Looks like certain markets they know it will be more of a necessity they are making it easy to add one.

A pillar rake is pretty different between Tacoma and LC. I'd be shocked if it fit.
 
This shows the side piece that looks like it would be where you could attach a snorkel. Hard to tell if it’s just a decorative piece or for a snorkel. It’s awfully close to the door but matches up with the photo of the snorkel above. Will be interesting to see if anyone can confirm this and if a Toyota dealer can lookup parts.

Our NA spec don't have that air intake side opening. If the air intake is nearby, perhaps a hole could be cut and air intake routed to the area, but we'll have to wait on the aftermarket...

Good point on the air intake location. Different setup on the turbo diesel than the NA hybrid version. Not much room to route an air intake over past the inverter to that same location.

Looks to me like the pass-through tube is routed between the fender and fender liner. Should be easy enough to route a longer tube. Stainless Steel flexible exhaust tubing might be a good choice if it's not a straight shot.

Can't wait to have one I can look at in person rather than trying to figure this stuff out via pictures and videos.

Would someone actually run a new LC in water so deep that it would cover stock air intake , flood the interior of cabin
Snorkels are mainly to raise the air intake in dusty environments nowadays. They help with water crossings as well but a lot of them are not water tight. Majority of the ones you see now are for aesthetics and people in their Defenders going to the mall.

I question why any sane person would buy a vehicle this impressive and not take it to places where its capabilities are put to use. In such places, the snorkel is peace of mind, and excellent insurance against ruining the most expensive component of your new vehicle.

Many times I have had water wash over my hood momentarily - never deep for long enough to ingress the door seals, but often deep enough to have entered the intake.

Also, the coastal area I live in is prone to flooding in summer storms and such. A snorkel could make an important difference just trying to get home safely or to transport a loved one with a medical emergency to the hospital.

I did in my brand new 5th gen, but it will be pointless on LC unless you want it for looks. LC's real-life wading depth would just be halfway to the rims. Once water rises to the door, it's game over. You have a battery pack and cooling grill inside, lower than your engine intake. So unless you install a raised air intake for dusty situations and not for water depth it useless.

Why is that? Assuming we can get a diff breather relocation kit - why couldn’t we get water up to the hood? Maybe we need a skirt on the front… I’ve been up to hood level a few times - it’s brief, but necessary for some crossings.
 
I don’t know but I would think LC diff and trans breather lines are run up to a higher level than actual unit
