How can I get my display to show when I get messages on my iPhone ?

Which screen are you referring here ? if its the screen above AC controls , then once carplay is connected you have all on the screen anyways !!.

I may not be correct on this, but I believe that iOS 18 removed the display on the vehicle screen of incoming iPhone messages and the ability to respond by tapping the vehicle screen. Presumably, this was a driver distraction/safety issue.

I'm not sure whether incoming iPhone messages are still heard via the vehicle audio system.

They only pop up when you’re in CarPlay and only certain notifications will show. The messages app is one of them that’ll show up.

iOS 18 doesn’t remove this feature.

You are incorrect.

When connected, you need to go into your Bluetooth settings, select your vehicle, then select enable notifications.

I know my wording is off on what to select but it should be something similar. I’ll try to remember to get screenshots and edit my reply when I leave for work.
